Scrapbooking Templates 101
Before you even start a scrapbook, you need to have a couple of things in mind. You’ll want to know what kind of scrapbooking templates you want, and what theme your scrapbook will take. We’ll go into detail later about scrapbooking themes, but for now we’ll get into some of the basics for scrapbooking templates.
The big question that needs to be answered before anything else is this: what is this scrapbook for? Your scrapbooking template will obviously vary from scrapbook to scrapbook, and you’ll want to get it into your mind the direction this scrapbook will take. It should go without saying that a scrapbooking template for a babys beginning will differ from scrapbooking templates for your kids graduation.
In a nutshell, your template will be how you put things together in your scrapbook. Scrapbooking templates do rely heavily on the theme and will typically present your scrapbook accorkingly. For a baby scrapbook, your template for your pages might have those letter blocks in the bottom corner with a pastel colored paper. You would use those pages through out your scrapbook. That is your scrapbooking template for your pages. You might also have a few templates for how your pictures look. You may cut your pictures in certain shapes thruough out scrapbook. That is another idea for baby scrapbooking templates.
When it comes to the colors for your scrapbook, choose wisely. The color that you choose for your scrapbooking template can either make or break your scrapbook. How you coordinate your colors is where the tricky part comes in. On that note, you will want to keep in mind the effect you want. If you were to contrast colors, that would cause the eyes to focus. Matching colors would obviously blend things together. It really all depends on what you want your readers to see.
Your scrapbooking templates will also play an important factor in how you display your pictures. How you cut and crop your photos depends highly on how your scrapbook is layed out. There are two ways to shape your pictures to fit your scrapbooking templates. And thats either old school with scissors or an exacto knife, or you can go digital. Personaly, I like the real photos and prefer to crop them myself with an eacto. But digitally editing your photos has become a more available solution with technologly these days. So many things can be done with photos with the right program. Just remember though, if you go old school, make sure you have a copy of the picture and always make sure what you’re cutting before you cut. I have wasted sevreal good pics by just cutting away.
These were just some real basic and simple ideas for scrapbooking templates. There will be more to come, and maybe even some examples of what I use for scrapbooking templates.
